About
The Ferrara Fair is the main exhibition center of the city of Ferrara. It is located in Via della Fiera 11 and is situated in the southern outskirts of the city.
The company Ferrara Fiere Congressi Srl has been part of the autonomous body of the Bologna Fair since 2002 and, together with the Modena Fair, constitutes an exhibition center spread over an area of ​​over 200,000 m² that is unique in Europe

The building was designed by the architect Vittorio Gregotti. The exhibition center extends over an area of ​​26,000 m², of which 16,000 are covered and 10,000 are two external squares for open-air exhibitions. In addition, there are 5,000 m² used for parking for a total of 2,000 parking spaces.
The exhibition complex was designed and built on a T-shaped plan and consists of 6 exhibition pavilions and 4 service buildings. The entire exhibition area is located on a single level on the ground floor while the upper floors house conference rooms and administrative offices.
THE RENOVATION PROJECT
The facade of a public building is the first element of communication between what it contains and its visitors. The exhibition complex, by its nature, is a large container that changes itself from time to time to be able to host different events.
The new building envelope proposed aims to improve the architectural value of the building as a whole and has as its objective the creation of a facade capable of imposing itself and communicating the presence of the Ferrara Fair through sculptural elements that emerge from the vertical plane that extends along the perimeter of the building itself.
The volumetric elements are enhanced by lights hidden inside the folds of the facade.
The proposed improvements to the project also concern the fire protection of the metal structures, the improvement of the fire reaction characteristics of the materials, the improvement of the technological package of the roof, the improvement of the internal finishes and the improvement of the plant equipment.
