Tracking pixel
“Tracking pixel” or “tracking code” is a small portion of code that is released by some systems and then recalled into others to track some data about the user and his/her browsing sessions or email opening, in a manner that is totally transparent to the user. The data being tracked can vary from date and time of browsing, geographical position, type of device used for browsing, up to the more complex tracking pixels that can track how much money was spent for online orders as well as other useful information for the marketing departments of the companies using them.

The most commonly used widgets are those of social networks, which allow users to easily access social networks in a separate browser window.
These services enable interaction with social networks, or other external platforms, directly from the pages of a website.
